Lock in with real drums, at your tempo
A studio kit, recorded hit by hit, ready to play. Slow it down, speed it up, and loop any part you like.
Pick a groove and play
A ’79 Ludwig Maple, at any tempo without the sound bending, looped at the bar you choose, counted in, and ready offline.
61 grooves in the app: funk, soul and R&B, Afrobeat, trap, surf rock, jazz, rock, pop and full song arrangements, ready to play. All of these play on a free account.
A click that grooves with you
Most metronomes beep. This one plays a rim click with a shaker under it, accents where your part pushes and rests where it breathes, in eighths, triplets or sixteenths. Press New idea when you need a fresh rhythm to play against.
The basic metronome plays free with no account, and a free account opens more: every click sound, every time signature and subdivision. Shift goes further: a different feel in every bar, on one steady pulse.
Slow it down, then bring it upSlow enough to learn it. Then a little faster
Start where it is clean, and let the Tempo Trainer move the groove up underneath you while your hands stay on your instrument.
From your tempo to the song's, a step at a time
Set where you start, where you want to end up, and how often it steps. It counts the bars for you: fast is easy once your slow becomes clean.
Free with an account, on the whole metronome. Under a groove or a Shift sequence it runs on the ten minutes; on Pro, as long as you like.
Loop the bridge, not the whole song
Bracket the bars you keep fumbling and they go round and round, the groove never stopping, until the change is in your hands.
Just the music, on your phone
When the screen is busy, so are your eyes. Start from a groove or a whole song arrangement in the library, or build your own bar by bar. Press Focus, and the menus go: the part you are working on loops, on the phone on your stand or the laptop beside you.

Can you hold the groove when the drums drop out?
Playing along is the start. The groove keeps going in a band when your attention drifts: find out if yours does.
Then practise exactly that
The drums drop out while you keep playing: by a pattern you choose, by surprise, or fading away and back.
Choose which bars drop out, and keep playing until they don't throw you.
Tap a beat to silence it.

What you build in silence, alone, is what ends up carrying a room full of people.
Ten minutes a day free on the grooves, the loop and Inner Pulse: enough to find your groove. The click is free all day with a free account. Building your own grooves is free to try; saving them, and the full session, is Pro.

Keeping time isn't only the drummer's job
I'm a drummer, and I teach drums, singing and production, plus a band class every week. Everyone in a band carries the time, so I built a place to practise carrying it, on grooves I curated, programmed or played myself.

- 30+private students I teach: drums, singing, production

In their own words
“For me, Timekeeper simply makes practice easier, more fun and more effective.”
I don't know of any other solution that brings these features together in the same way.
